CVE-2022-50036

Service interruption via wrapped DSI packet sizes

Published Jun 18, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026

Integer underflow in the Linux sun4i DRM driver allows local users to interrupt service via a short MIPI-DSI sync pulse. In sun6i_dsi_setup_timings, unsigned bytes-per-pixel arithmetic subtracts packet overhead from short display timings and wraps negative results into large u16 packet lengths. Reachability requires local access to a system using the sun4i MIPI-DSI driver and a mode with a short sync pulse; the published impact is limited to availability.
