CVE-2022-50003

Kernel Oops via unpaired AF_XDP queue binding

Published Jun 18, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026

NULL pointer dereference in the Linux kernel allows local users to trigger a kernel Oops via an AF_XDP socket bind. In ice_xsk_pool_setup, the ice driver assumes each selected Tx queue has a matching Rx ring and indexes beyond the Rx-ring array for an unpaired queue ID. Triggering the fault requires an Intel ice interface configured with more Tx than Rx queues and a Tx-only XSK bind to a queue without an Rx counterpart.
