CVE-2022-49968

Kernel memory corruption via teardown race

Published Jun 18, 2025 · Updated Aug 5, 2026

Use-after-free in the Linux kernel ADF7242 driver allows physically proximate attackers to corrupt kernel memory during device teardown. The adf7242_remove path destroys its workqueue before IEEE 802.15.4 unregistration completes, while adf7242_isr can still pass that freed queue to mod_delayed_work after a radio interrupt. Exploitation requires an ADF7242 device, radio-range frame injection, and concurrent privileged driver removal; effects include a kernel crash, memory disclosure, or code execution in the kernel.
