CVE-2022-49946

Kernel memory disclosure via unterminated clock list

Published Jun 18, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in the Linux kernel's Raspberry Pi clock driver allows local users to access memory through firmware clock data. raspberrypi_discover_clocks() scans a fixed-size response until a zero clock ID even though VideoCore firmware does not guarantee that terminator. The driver must process an unterminated firmware clock list; public sources identify no reliable user-controlled trigger or specific outcome beyond invalid memory access.
