Service interruption via USB gadget lock inversion
Published Jun 18, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
Lock inversion in the USB gadget core of Linux 5.19.7 allows local users to interrupt service through USB gadget operations. drivers/usb/gadget/udc/core.c holds udc_mutex while bind, unbind, start, or stop callbacks acquire dependent locks, creating a circular lock order; function_show also dereferences udc->driver without the mutex. Low-privileged local access and an active USB gadget controller are required; confidentiality and integrity are unaffected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
