CVE-2022-49818

Denial of service via premature device release

Published May 1, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026

Denial of service in affected Linux kernel mISDN versions allows local users to disrupt the kernel through failed device registration. In mISDN_register_device(), a get_free_devid() failure reaches an error path that calls put_device() before device_initialize() initializes the embedded device. The flaw requires local low-privileged access and the mISDN device-registration failure path; the reported consequence is limited to service interruption.
