CVE-2022-4979Network attack vector

Authenticated script execution via undisclosed XSS mechanism

Published Jul 25, 2025 · Updated Mar 23, 2026

Cross-site scripting in Sitecore XP 7.5 through 10.2 and CMS 7.2 through Update-6 allows attackers to execute custom JavaScript. Sitecore has not published the vulnerable component or the input-handling operation that permits the script injection. Exploitation requires an authenticated Sitecore Shell user to process crafted content in that user's context; Managed Cloud Standard deployments running affected XP or CMS versions share the exposure.
