Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked keyboard events
Published Jul 23, 2025 · Updated Jul 28, 2026
Command injection in Steppschuh Remote Control Collection Server 3.1.1.12 allows remote attackers to execute code over UDP. The custom control protocol accepts unauthenticated keyboard-event datagrams and passes them to Windows input simulation, enabling a sequence that opens cmd.exe and types attacker-chosen commands. The server is exposed to the local network when password protection is disabled, the default setting, and successful exploitation runs commands with the server process's privileges.
