Kernel warning via inapplicable DCN314 register writes
Published May 1, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
Improper register access in the Linux kernel 6.0 AMD display CRC path allows local users to trigger a kernel warning on DCN314 hardware. The DCN314 output timing controller selects optc2_configure_crc, which calls optc1_configure_crc and then writes additional registers that do not apply to DCN314. Reaching the path requires local CRC-source configuration on affected AMD display hardware; the documented consequence is a kernel warning.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
