Local denial of service via probe rollback leak
Published Mar 27, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
Resource leak in Linux kernel 6.0 through 6.1.10 and 6.2-rc1 through 6.2-rc6 allows local users to exhaust resources via failed FPGA probes. An allocation-error path in m10bmc_sec_probe returns without erasing its fw_upload_xa identifier, leaving kernel resources retained after an unsuccessful probe. The path is limited to systems using the Intel MAX 10 BMC secure-update driver, and exploitation requires local low-privileged access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
