CVE-2022-49719

Service interrupt via leaked RealView node references

Published Feb 26, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026

Reference-counting error in the RealView GIC driver in Linux allows local users to interrupt service through leaked kernel resources. During realview_gic_of_init, of_find_matching_node_and_match() returns a device-tree node with an incremented reference count, but the driver omits of_node_put() after using it. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and a system that initializes the RealView GIC path; the consequence is limited to availability.
