Service interruption via leaked device-tree references
Published Feb 26, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
Resource leak in Linux before 5.19 allows local users to exhaust kernel memory by repeatedly probing an LPC32xx USB gadget controller. The lpc32xx_udc_probe function retains the reference returned by of_parse_phandle because it omits the required of_node_put call. Local access and an affected LPC32xx gadget configuration are required; repeated probes consume kernel resources and can interrupt service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
