CVE-2022-49677

Service interruption via device-node refcount leak

Published Feb 26, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026

Resource leak in Linux kernels on ARM CNS3xxx systems allows local users to interrupt service through affected platform initialization. The cns3xxx_init function retains the reference returned by of_find_compatible_node() because it omits the required of_node_put() call. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and an affected CNS3xxx kernel, and the published impact is limited to service availability.
