Service interruption via interpolation index underflow

Out-of-bounds read in Linux kernel 5.17 through 5.18.12 allows local users to interrupt service via power-supply table inputs. The power_supply_ocv2cap_simple function can set its upper index to -1 when an OCV exceeds the first table entry, causing a read before the table; power_supply_temp2resist_simple also collapses interpolation endpoints and returns an incorrect resistance. SUSE assesses local low-privileged access as the gate, while the published kernel record does not identify how a user controls the relevant power-supply readings.
