Service interruption via device-node reference leak
Published Feb 26, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
Resource leak in the Microchip DSA driver in the Linux kernel allows local users to interrupt service during switch registration. ksz_switch_register() retains the reference returned by of_get_child_by_name() because it omits the corresponding of_node_put() call. Reachability requires a system using a supported Microchip KSZ DSA switch and execution of its registration path; no data disclosure or modification is reported.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
