Script execution via unescaped result ID
Published Dec 3, 2023 · Updated Jun 3, 2025
Reflected XSS in LibreSpeed Speedtest 5.2.0 through 5.2.4 allows remote attackers to execute script via the stats.php id parameter. When a result lookup fails, results/stats.php inserts the unescaped id value into an HTML error message instead of encoding it. Exploitation requires an authenticated victim to open a crafted URL on an instance exposing the optional results interface, giving the script that page's browser context.
