Iframe injection via unvalidated lightbox video URLs
Published Aug 14, 2023 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-frame scripting in Elementor Website Builder before 3.5.5 allows attackers to inject a rogue iframe through a crafted URL fragment. The frontend lightbox handler passes an unrecognized video URL through baseVideoLoader.getAutoplayURL() and assigns the result to an iframe src without an allowlist. Opening the crafted link is required; the injected frame displays attacker-selected remote content to the visitor.
