CVE-2022-49503

Memory disclosure or crash via unchecked key index

Published Feb 26, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in the Linux kernel ath9k_htc driver allows local users to read kernel memory or crash the system. The ath9k_htc receive path passes an untrusted key index to ath9k_cmn_rx_accept, whose test_bit call reads beyond the key bitmap when the index is invalid. Reachability requires local low-privileged access and the affected wireless receive path; impacts are bounded to memory disclosure and a system crash.
