Local denial of service via RGA probe leak
Published Feb 26, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
Memory leak in the Linux kernel RGA driver 4.15 through 5.18.2 allows local users to consume kernel memory by triggering a probe failure. The rga_probe error path fails to call v4l2_m2m_release for rga->m2m_dev when device registration fails, leaving the allocation unreleased. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and the Rockchip RGA driver to hit that failure path; repeated leakage can exhaust memory and interrupt the system.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
