Service interruption via probe-path reference leak
Published Feb 26, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
Reference-count leak in the Linux J721E ASoC driver allows local users to interrupt service through repeated probe attempts. The j721e_soc_probe_* paths retain the device-tree node returned by of_parse_phandle() instead of releasing it with of_node_put(). Reachability requires a TI J721E sound-card device-tree configuration and the affected driver; published impact is limited to availability.
