Visitor redirection via unvalidated shortcode destination
Published Jun 5, 2023 · Updated Jan 8, 2025
Open redirect in AccessPress Anonymous Post 2.8.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to redirect visitors to arbitrary domains. The ap-form-message shortcode accepts its redirect attribute as a destination without validating that the URL belongs to the site. Contributor-level access is enough to publish the crafted shortcode, and a visitor must view the affected page or post for the redirect to occur.
