Service interruption via MediaTek PCIe refcount leak
Published Feb 26, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
Resource leak in the MediaTek PCIe driver in affected Linux kernel releases allows local users to interrupt service. mtk_pcie_subsys_powerup obtains a device-tree node with of_find_compatible_node but omits of_node_put after use, retaining a reference on each affected path invocation. Reachability requires local low-privileged access and a MediaTek PCIe controller; published records do not identify the trigger used to repeat power-up.
