System crash via unchecked platform resource

NULL pointer dereference in affected Linux kernel releases allows local users to crash the system during DaVinci voice-codec probing. davinci_vc_probe dereferences res->start after platform_get_resource can return NULL for a platform device lacking the expected memory resource. Reachability requires the DaVinci voice-codec driver and a platform device with a missing memory resource; the resulting fault interrupts availability without reported data exposure or modification.
