Kernel panic via uninitialized NFSv4 label free

Memory corruption in the Linux kernel NFSv4 client 5.16 through 5.18.2 allows remote attackers to crash clients via referrals. nfs4_get_referral copies an nfs_fattr containing pointer fields, replacing a valid label pointer with uninitialized allocation data that nfs4_label_free later frees. An existing NFSv4 mount to a malicious or compromised server and a referral-triggering lookup are required; the reported consequence is a kernel panic.
