CVE-2022-49368

Local kernel-data disclosure via unchecked flow index

Published Feb 26, 2025 · Updated Aug 5, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in the Linux MediaTek Ethernet driver allows local users to disclose kernel data through an ethtool flow query. mtk_hwlro_get_fdir_entry uses the user-controlled fsp->location value to index mac->hwlro_ip without first checking the array bounds. Reachability requires local access and a MediaTek interface using hardware LRO; an invalid location can expose adjacent kernel data or crash the system.
