Kernel panic via stale NAPI registration
Published Feb 26, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
Denial of service in the ath11k AHB driver in Linux allows local users to crash the kernel by repeatedly reloading the module. ath11k_ahb_free_ext_irq releases interrupts without calling netif_napi_del, leaving a stale NAPI registration that netif_napi_add later traverses. Reaching the fault requires local module-management privileges and compatible IPQ8074 AHB Wi-Fi hardware; the reported consequence is a kernel panic, not data access or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
