Service interruption via failed firmware-update memory leak

Memory exhaustion in the pm8001 SCSI driver in Linux allows local users to interrupt service through failed firmware-update requests. The pm8001 firmware-flash request path allocates a fw_control_ex structure but fails to free it when request construction returns an error. Exploitation requires local low-privilege access and a system using the pm8001 controller driver; repeated failures consume kernel memory until service is interrupted.
