Published Sep 26, 2024 · Updated Sep 26, 2024
Classic buffer overflow in Synology Drive Client before 3.4.0-15721 allows local users with administrator privileges to crash the client. Backup task management copies input into a buffer without checking its size, but Synology has not disclosed the entry point or input field. Local administrator privileges are required; exploitation interrupts client availability without reported data disclosure or modification.
