Kernel memory corruption via dangling termination-table pointer
Published Oct 21, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Use-after-free in the mlx5e termination-table rollback path in Linux 5.3 and later allows local users to corrupt kernel memory. A failed later destination frees a termination-table handle but leaves attr->dests[num_vport_dests].termtbl pointing to it for rule release. Reaching the path requires CAP_NET_ADMIN and crafted multi-destination TC flower rules; dereferencing the stale handle can disclose or corrupt kernel memory, escalate privileges, or panic the host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
