CVE-2022-4901

Script execution via unsafe VPN configuration rendering

Published Mar 1, 2023 · Updated Mar 7, 2025

Stored cross-site scripting in Sophos Connect before 2.2.90 allows attackers to run JavaScript in its local UI through a malicious VPN file. The client renders attacker-controlled VPN configuration content in the local interface without sufficient output neutralization. Exploitation requires a local user to manually import the crafted configuration, after which the script can alter content in that user's UI context.
