Kernel memory corruption via oversized channel loop
Published Aug 22, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in the Linux TSC2046 ADC driver allows local users to corrupt kernel memory when the controller is initialized. The tsc2046_adc_setup_spi_msg function iterates over dcfg->num_channels, which includes eight physical channels plus a timestamp, and uses the ninth index to write past the eight-element priv->l layout and priv->ch_cfg arrays. Reachability requires a system with the TI TSC2046 ADC controller; the separate timestamp scan-mask loop is unreachable and is only a cleanup.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
