Path traversal in sviehb Jefferson 0.1 through 0.3 allows context-dependent attackers to write files outside the extraction directory. The dump_fs function joins inode-derived names to the extraction target without first canonicalizing the result or verifying that it remains beneath that target. Exploitation requires Jefferson to process a crafted JFFS2 image, and resulting writes are limited by the filesystem permissions of the Jefferson process.
