Arbitrary file write via ZIP entry traversal
Published Jan 7, 2023 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in StAkira OpenUtau before 0.0.991 allows attackers to write files outside the voicebank directory via a crafted ZIP archive. VoicebankInstaller.LoadArchive combines each untrusted archive entry key with the extraction base path and writes the entry without first confining the resolved path to that base directory. Exploitation requires a crafted voicebank archive to reach the desktop installer's archive-loading path, and writes are limited to locations permitted by the OpenUtau process.
