Host crash via unsupported EFI runtime call

Denial of service in Linux allows local users on Apple x86 systems to crash the machine by triggering EFI variable operations. The EFI runtime path calls the EFI 2.0 QueryVariableInfo service before setting a variable, although Apple x86 firmware does not safely implement that runtime service. Reachability requires Linux running on Apple x86 hardware and local access able to invoke EFI variable services; the bounded consequence is a firmware crash that interrupts the host.
