Password disclosure via unsanitized middleware error output
Published Jan 5, 2023 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Information disclosure in Evolution Events Artaxerxes before 2022-08-12 allows remote authenticated users to expose passwords in error output. The request path lacked a pre-view middleware safeguard, so middleware exceptions such as CSRF failures rendered the POST password parameter instead of marking it sensitive. Exploitation requires low-privileged access and user interaction, and the consequence is limited to disclosure of submitted password values.
