Kernel memory corruption via device-tree depth overflow

Out-of-bounds write in affected Linux kernel releases allows attackers to corrupt kernel memory through a deeply nested device tree. In unflatten_dt_nodes(), the loop permits depth to reach the nps[] bound and then indexes the fixed array, writing one element past its end. Reachability requires excessive nesting to be processed during device-tree unflattening; public records specify no further consequence beyond kernel-memory corruption.
