Service interruption via leaked ABTS management commands
Published Apr 28, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026
Memory leak in the Linux kernel qla2xxx SCSI target driver allows local users to exhaust kernel memory through repeated ABTS requests. The __qlt_24xx_handle_abts() error path returns when a command tag lookup fails without freeing the allocated management command. Reachability requires the qla2xxx target path and an unmatched ABTS command tag; repeated triggers consume kernel memory and interrupt service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
