Unauthorized app pre-authorization via lax identity verification
Published Jun 19, 2023 · Updated Dec 17, 2024
Improper authentication in affected Huawei EMUI and HarmonyOS releases allows attackers to pre-authorize malicious apps via an app identity check. The pre-authorization function accepts an app identity without sufficiently verifying it, placing a malicious app in the trusted pre-authorized state. Huawei has not published the delivery path, required privileges, or operations granted to an app after pre-authorization.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
