Unauthorized data changes via missing CSRF validation
Published Dec 29, 2022 · Updated Apr 9, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in Memos before 0.9.1 allows remote attackers to change data through a signed-in user's browser. The server accepts state-changing API requests without validating a CSRF token, and its session cookie lacks the SameSite=Strict attribute. Exploitation requires an authenticated user to load attacker-controlled content; resulting requests execute with that user's permissions.
