Unauthenticated system-file disclosure via path traversal
Published May 2, 2023 · Updated Jan 30, 2025
Path traversal in 3CX Phone System before 18 Hotfix 1 build 18.0.3.461 on Windows allows unauthenticated remote attackers to read system files. The /Electron/download handler accepts a drive-letter path component containing backslashes and resolves it outside the intended download directory into %WINDIR%\system32. No credentials or user interaction are required; exposure permits reads from that system directory but does not provide file modification or code execution.
