Reachable assertion in MPD before 0.23.8 allows remote attackers to crash the service by playing a truncated file through PipeWire. The PipeWire output plugin issues Drain after truncated playback, and libqtappfw passes a NULL pointer into libmpdclient, triggering an assertion. The PipeWire output path must be enabled and the crafted file must reach playback; the documented impact is a service crash without data disclosure or modification.
