Published Jan 30, 2023 · Updated Mar 27, 2025
Stored XSS in LinksAlpha Social Sharing Toolkit 2.6 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script via a crafted shortcode. The social_share shortcode places its url attribute into page output without validation or escaping, allowing an event-handler payload to persist. Contributor access and enabled social sharing in the Shortcode settings are required; execution occurs when a privileged user views the affected page.
