CVE-2022-48335Public exploit

Secure World code execution via unchecked buffer copy

Published Jun 26, 2023 · Updated Dec 4, 2024

Buffer overflow in Widevine Trusted Application 5.0.0 through 7.1.1 allows local users to execute code in the Secure World. PRDiagVerifyProvisioning copies the client-controlled msg_buf into a 128-byte data-segment buffer using unchecked msg_buf_size, overwriting adjacent data and the stack return address. Exploitation requires high privileges in the Normal World; it grants code execution in the trusted application and permits critical-file access or an application crash.
