CVE-2022-48332Public exploit

Trustlet crash via file-name length overflow

Published Jun 26, 2023 · Updated Dec 5, 2024

Integer overflow in Widevine Trusted Application 5.0.0 through 5.1.1 allows local users with high privileges to crash the trustlet. The drm_save_keys path-length check adds the attacker-controlled file_name_len to total_len as a signed integer, allowing wraparound before memcpy copies the file name into a 256-byte heap buffer. Reaching the command requires high privileges in Android's Normal World; the published proof of concept crashes the Trusted Application, while Secure World code execution remains potential rather than demonstrated.
