Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attribute
Published Feb 6, 2023 · Updated Mar 25, 2025
Stored XSS in the YourChannel WordPress plugin before 1.2.3 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through a shortcode. The yourchannel shortcode writes its video attribute into page output without validation or context-appropriate escaping. Contributor access is sufficient to store the payload, which executes when a higher-privileged user views the affected page.
