CVE-2022-48317Network attack vector

Expired-session reuse via signature-only cookie validation

Published Feb 20, 2023 · Updated Mar 12, 2025

Insufficient session expiration in Checkmk 2.0 and 2.1 allows remote attackers to reuse expired session cookies against the REST API. The REST API validates only the cookie signature and does not verify that the associated session remains active. Exploitation requires possession of a previously valid cookie and permits only API actions that do not access the expired user session.
