CVE-2022-48308Network attack vector

Traffic interception via missing TLS hostname validation

Published Feb 16, 2023 · Updated Mar 18, 2025

Improper certificate validation in Palantir Sls-logging before 9.51.0 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to read or modify TLS traffic. Misuse of javax.net.ssl.SSLSocketFactory leaves the peer certificate's hostname unverified, so a certificate for another host is accepted. Exploitation requires a privileged network position and a specific configuration that Palantir reports is not known to be deployed.
