Unauthenticated data disclosure via unchecked bundle APIs
Published Feb 9, 2023 · Updated Mar 24, 2025
Missing authentication in Huawei EMUI 12.0.1 and HarmonyOS 2.0 and 3.0.0 allows remote attackers to read confidential data via exposed APIs. PackageManagerService bundle-management APIs process requests without authentication and control checks; Huawei has not disclosed the affected API names. Network access requires no authentication or user interaction, and the documented consequence is limited to confidentiality.
