Service interruption via recursive self-CNAME loop

Denial of service in Technitium DNS Server before 10.0 allows remote attackers to interrupt DNS service via a self-CNAME response. The recursive resolver follows a CNAME that points back to itself until its loop limit, constructing an answer containing hundreds of records. An unauthenticated attacker must cause the server to resolve the crafted self-referential name; the resulting response expansion disrupts availability without reported data disclosure or modification.
