CVE-2022-4815Network attack vector

Authenticated unauthorized actions via JSON gadget chains

Published May 24, 2023 · Updated Jan 16, 2025

Untrusted deserialization in Pentaho Business Analytics Server allows remote authenticated users to perform unauthorized actions. The JSON parser accepts attacker-chosen classes and methods instead of restricting them to an approved set, enabling gadget chains to self-execute during deserialization. Exploitation requires low-privileged access and user interaction; vendor materials do not identify the endpoint or bound the unauthorized actions further.
